Shipped.club Alternative for Next.js SaaS (2026): Honest Comparison

By Jake Mcdonald, founder of ShipEmber · November 2, 2026 · About a 9-minute read · Prices checked on shipped.club today

I'm Jake Mcdonald. I sell ShipEmber, so read this with that bias in mind — and verify every Shipped claim on shipped.club yourself. People searching "Shipped.club alternative" usually want a Next.js SaaS kit in a similar indie price band, or they want Stripe-first / Auth.js / a smaller App Router codebase instead of Shipped's wider landing + Lemon Squeezy-oriented kit.

Shipped figures below were read from the live shipped.club pricing section on November 2, 2026. ShipEmber prices match our live pricing page the same day.

What Shipped is (from their site)

Shipped is Luca's Next.js SaaS boilerplate aimed at busy indie developers. On the live homepage today:

  • SaaS Boilerplate — $157 (card also shows a struck-through $257)
  • SaaS + Chrome Extension — $207 (struck-through $307)

Each price card also prints "$157 billed yearly" / "$207 billed yearly" under the amount, while the same page says "Pay once, launch unlimited products" and the FAQ describes a one-time purchase with lifetime GitHub access, docs, Discord, and free updates. I could not complete a checkout to see the final charge cadence — confirm on their payment screen before you buy. Treat the FAQ + "pay once" line as their stated license model, and the "billed yearly" microcopy as something to double-check at checkout.

Feature surface called out on the site includes: composable landing / waitlist / pre-sale / affiliate pages; Lemon Squeezy (Merchant of Record) and Stripe for payments; auth via email/magic-link style flows with NextAuth and Supabase options discussed in the FAQ; Prisma ORM; Chakra UI + Tailwind + shadcn/ui mentions; Markdown/MDX blog and SEO helpers; dashboards/charts; Vercel AI SDK integrations; Discord community. The FAQ currently says the boilerplate targets Next.js 14.

Refunds: their FAQ says once you have repo access it can't be refunded.

What ShipEmber is

ShipEmber is the kit I built for myself: Next.js App Router + TypeScript, Auth.js v5, Stripe subscriptions (Checkout, customer portal, signature-verified idempotent webhooks), Prisma + Postgres, a Free/Pro gated dashboard, marketing pages, one-file rebrand, tests, and CI. One-time payment. Instant zip download after checkout. Lifetime updates to v1. 14-day refund if it doesn't work as described.

Live price today: $49 launch week, then $79 — see pricing.

It does not ship Lemon Squeezy, a Chrome Extension boilerplate, Chakra-heavy landing kits, or AI provider wrappers. Intentionally small.

When Shipped is the better pick

  • You want Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record so tax handling sits with the MoR (their FAQ's stated reason).
  • You want the wider launch surface: waitlist, pre-sale, affiliate page, blog/SEO helpers, AI SDK hooks.
  • You specifically want the Chrome Extension add-on tier.
  • You're fine on Next.js 14-oriented docs/code and Chakra-centered components, with Discord support included.

If that matches, buy from shipped.club. I mean that.

When ShipEmber is the better pick

  • Budget under ~$100 and you still need auth + Stripe subscriptions + a gated dashboard.
  • You're standardized on Auth.js + Stripe + Prisma/Postgres (no MoR, no Supabase-auth requirement).
  • You want a small codebase and a 14-day refund with an instant zip (no waiting on a GitHub invite).
  • You don't need Chrome Extension scaffolding or a large landing-page kit on day one.

Why choose ShipEmber

Here's the honest pitch.

1. Different product, lower price

Shipped's live cards start at $157. ShipEmber is $49 during launch week, then $79. We're not "Shipped with every landing block removed for sport." We're the core loop only. If you need their MoR path and launch-page kit, pay for Shipped.

2. Stripe webhooks done carefully

Checkout, raw-body signature verification, idempotent events, plan state in your database, server-side gating. Longer walkthrough: Stripe subscriptions on App Router and the Auth.js + Stripe checklist.

3. Ships the same day

Pay once. Download starts on the confirmation page. Drop in keys, migrate, deploy to Vercel.
