Getting started

Zero to running in eight steps.

Requirements

You need Node 20+, a Postgres database and a Stripe account.

node -v   # v20 or newer

Unzip the download and move into the folder.

unzip shipember.zip -d my-app
cd my-app

Install dependencies.

npm install

Copy the example file. Add your database URL, auth secrets and Stripe keys.

cp .env.example .env

Create the tables, then add seed data.

npx prisma migrate dev
npx prisma db seed

Forward events to your local server with the Stripe CLI. Copy the signing secret it prints into .env.

stripe listen --forward-to localhost:3000/api/webhooks/stripe

Start the dev server and open localhost:3000.

npm run dev

Push to GitHub, import the repo in Vercel, and add the same environment variables. Then add your live webhook URL in the Stripe dashboard.

npx vercel --prod
